Visit the Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club!
What to expect at the Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club trails.
If you're looking to get outdoors and be enchanted by a Bruce County winter- visiting the Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club trails is the the perfect outing. The club is located within Stoney Island Conservation. Follow along as we stop by for a visit...
Keep an eye out for the Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club sign on County Road 23. The sign will indicate if the trails are open or closed. You can also look for any trail updates or closures on their Facebook page.
Upon entering, you'll see the Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club Hut from the parking lot. When the trails are open, the hut is open for borrowing cross country ski equipment.
There is a daily fee of $3.00 per person or $5.00 per family. Payments can be placed into the locked mailbox next to the ski hut. Annual memberships are available for $30.00 for an individual or $50.00 for a family. All of the information you could need for payment or borrowing equipment is posted in the hut.
The ski hut has a large selection of skis, boots and poles. There is equipment to accommodate young children to adults, in a range of sizes. The hut has a bench for changing boots. A team of dedicated volunteers work hard to keep the hut well organized- please be respectful and put items back where they were found.
There are multiple trails that range in difficulty. There is a large map outside of the ski hut. You can check the difficulty level and distance of the trails there. Please note: not all trails are may be open and respect the signage.
Stoney Island Conservation had some remediation work done due to the ash borer. The ski club has been working to get as many trails functioning as possible. Please check their Facebook page for any updates before arriving and follow signage.
There are walk trails as well. These can be used for hiking, snowshoeing, or bringing your four-legged friend along. The ski trails are groomed for cross country skiing and so it is important to stay off of them if not skiing. There is signage and maps for the walk trails. These trails are awe-inspiring and great for bird watching!
